Attorney Abby Bakos is known throughout the legal community for her sharp legal acumen, and unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional representation to every client she serves. With over a decade of legal experience, she has built a reputation for providing high-quality, honest, and diligent legal counsel in both complex federal litigation and transactional matters.
Before founding Bakos Law, LLC, Ms. Bakos spent more than a decade as a federal civil rights litigator and trial attorney, serving as lead counsel on numerous high-profile cases. Her experience in the courtroom honed not only her advocacy skills but also her deep commitment to justice and client-centered representation.
In addition to her civil litigation background, Ms. Bakos provides legal services in real estate law and trusts and estates. Her diverse practice reflects her passion for helping individuals, families, and the community protect what matters most — from property and legacy to fundamental rights.
Ms. Bakos earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2013, where she was a Dean’s List honoree and earned multiple CALI Awards for academic excellence. She was also invited to join the Law Review following her first year of law school — a testament to her strong legal research and writing skills.
Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Bakos is dedicated to the development of future legal professionals. She teaches legal writing and civil litigation courses at a nonprofit college in Chicago, where she shares her knowledge and experience with aspiring paralegals and attorneys.
Ms. Bakos is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Arizona and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, as well as the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
